The China Airport Passenger Experience Summit has been held for eight consecutive years, the successful launch of the sessions in the past eight years enabled us to gain great support and involvement of aviation professionals from home and abroad, representatives of more than 100 airports, airlines and suppliers of the aviation industry around the world participated in the sessions, and the cumulative number of participants exceeded 2,000. The 9th China Airport Passenger Experience Summit (CAPES2018), organized by Summit Asia Events Limited, will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province on April 18 and 19, 2018, with a theme "The Passenger Experience of Smart Airports Driven by Technological Innovations". We expect to attract more than 200 senior executives from the industry.

The Summit focuses on the latest developments and future trends relating to each key stage of the passenger journey, including pre-travel, check-in and validation, bag drop, security, immigration, boarding and arrivals. Passengers today are expecting well notified flight information prior to the airport, a smooth, seamless and hassle-free experience at the airport, and a tool to check their baggage status after the flight. They wish to have the whole journey under their own control. The development and increased application of technologies, including mobile phones, RFID, robots, artificial intelligence, big data, and biometrics, are providing such possibilities. In the National Civil Aviation Work Conference took place in late December 2017, Feng Zhenglin, Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said in a work report, the baggage loading and unloading work needed to be improved and the RFID baggage tracking system needed to be popularized to reduce baggage mishandling and damage.

Against this background, it is of increasing importance for airports, airlines and their stakeholders to adapt themselves to the new change demanded by passengers. This as a result is expected to redefine the end-to-end travel experience of passengers.

This year's event will take place in Shenzhen. Shenzhen Baoan International Airport has realized whole process self-services for passengers from check-in, to bag delivery and further to boarding. In November 2017, it launched security and boarding services with two-dimension electronic boarding passes for domestic passengers without baggage and departing from Shenzhen.
